The bottlebrush is a woody shrub of the genus Callistemon named after the head of flowers, which looks like a traditional bottle brush. The plant and originates from Australia and there is some dispute over whether it falls into the genus Melaleuca. The bottlebrush is an excellent garden plant; there are a number of varieties, and the nectar is said to be irresistible to nectar-feeding birds and insects.
